The British Basketball League Regular Season
Formerly known as the British Basketball League Championship, the 2023/24 British Basketball League Regular Season is a 36-game marathon for each of the 10 teams in the League. With each team facing their nine possible opponents four times – twice at home and twice on the road – the Regular Season is the ultimate test of a team’s mental and physical stamina as all 10 teams fight for supremacy in the 2023/24 campaign.
The London Lions led the way in the Regular Season last year, with a 32-4 record good enough for the Copper Box club to top the rankings for only the second time in their history. The Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles lead the way in Regular Season honours, with seven titles to their name over the years, followed closely by the Leicester Riders (6) and the B. Braun Sheffield Sharks (4). Will a new name top the standings this season and earn the number one seed for the season-ending Playoffs!? Click here to get your tickets and find out!
The British Basketball League Trophy
Taking on an exciting new format this season, the 2024 British Basketball League Trophy is set to be the best yet! Returning to a Group Stage format with the Semi-Finals and Final both taking place in an epic Final-Four on the same weekend January 27-28 2024 – at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena – the entire Trophy competition will take place throughout January, as the Regular Season action pauses to allow this prestigious competition to take centre stage.
All 10 teams from the League will take part in the Trophy Group Stages, which were drawn via an open draw at League HQ and split as follows:
Group A | Group B |
Cheshire Phoenix | Manchester Giants |
Plymouth City Patriots | London Lions |
Surrey Scorchers | Leicester Riders |
B. Braun Sheffield Sharks | Bristol Flyers |
Caledonia Gladiators | Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles |
Each team will face all of their group opponents once, before the top two sides in each pool advance to the Final Four weekend in Birmingham, where the winner of Group A will play the Runner-Up of Group B and vice versa in the Semi-Finals. The Caledonia Gladiators are the defending Trophy Champions, after THAT David Sloan game-winner at the Emirates Arena last year, but who will walk away with the first silverware of the season in January? Get your tickets to the Final Four and take advantage of our Early Bird offer from August 23d with a huge discount of up to 25% off available on select packages.
The British Basketball League All-Star Game
Returning for the first time in over a decade, the 2024 British Basketball League All-Star Game is set to be a show-stopping event at London’s Copper Box Arena on Sunday March 17. The British Basketball League Playoffs
The one that everybody wants to win! Where miracles happen and legacies are formed, the Playoff title is what every team is playing for from day one of pre-season. No matter how your season has gone, if you can walk out of The O2, London, on Sunday May 19 with the 2024 British Basketball League Playoff title over your shoulders, you’ve won – you are the best, and you have the silverware to prove it.
The top eight teams from the Regular Season are seeded one through eight for the Quarter-Final stages of the Playoffs, with the higher seed having homecourt advantage in a three-game series for a place in the Semi-Finals – meaning the higher seed will play at home for Games One and Three. The first to two wins advances to the Semi-Finals, where the same rules apply, before the last two teams standing advance to The O2 for one incredible showdown in front of a sell-out crowd at the world-famous arena.
With some of the best hoopers on the planet taking to the floor, the fans and some of the most famous faces in the country come out in their numbers to witness the biggest game of the season. Don’t miss out on the chance to see who will be crowned the 2023/24 British Basketball League Playoff Champions live!
