Tevin Olison has put pen to paper on a new one-year contract with the Bristol Flyers. The American sharpshooter will return to the WISE Campus for his second season with the club, becoming the first player to commit to Coach Kapoulas’ 2023/24 roster.
Olison had a very impressive rookie campaign, joining the Flyers out of Youngstown State University and making 34 league appearances, averaging 10.1 points per game on 38% shooting from behind the three-point line.
Speaking on his return to Bristol, Olison said:
“It’s great to be back with the Flyers. We had a great season last year and proved a lot of people wrong. I learned a lot from my rookie season and I’m really looking forward to getting back out there and competing for a championship.
“I’m very excited about the European games in the ENBL and that was another big reason why I wanted to come back. I hope everyone’s ready to rock the WISE Campus once again this season.”
Olison began his college career at Cleveland State Community College, where he started in all 26 games of his freshman year and averaged 15.6 points per game.
He upped his scoring average to 17.3 as a sophomore, before transferring to the University of the Cumberlands, where he played two seasons with the program between 2019-2021 and was named NAIA Second Team All-American and MSC First Team All-Conference for two years in a row.
In 2021, Olison was the only NAIA player in all of
college basketball to make the transition to the NCAA Division One level at
Youngstown State, with the benefit of the COVID year.
Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas said:
“It’s great to have Tevin back for a second season. He was a key contributor to our team in his rookie season and he finished the campaign strong with some dominant performances. We look forward to seeing him pick up where he left off.
“Tevin’s athleticism, skill and experience will be valuable to our team as we build our roster for the upcoming season.”
