The Plymouth City Patriots have moved to bolster their roster with the new British Basketball League campaign just weeks away, adding American forward Jacob Wiley to their roster.
The 25-year-old from Texas is a second year professional,
spending his debut campaign in Greece with GD Ermis Shimatariou and NE Megaridas,
narrowly missing out on a playoff berth with the latter to close out the
campaign.
The 6’7” swingman spent four years in the NCAA Division I at
the University of Illinois, before transferring to Marian College in NAIA
Division II for his final year of eligibility.
A solid contributor in Greece in his debut campaign, averaging
over 12 points and five rebound for Megaridas, Wiley has started his
professional career strongly and is looking to continue that this season with the
Patriots under the guidance of Head Coach Paul James.
Discussing his newest signing, Coach James said:
“Jacob comes highly recommended and has a wealth of experience from playing in college. The way he performed in Greece was impressive, he has size and rebounding ability, so he’ll be another great signing for the team.”
