John Salley wants those criticizing Ja Morant to calm down. Speaking to TMZ Sports, he is confident that the NBA superstar didn’t have ill intentions when he appeared to mimic a gun celebration on Tuesday night.
According to Salley, Morant’s gestures, which followed a powerful alley-oop dunk in the Grizzlies’ overtime victory against the Pelicans, are just a reflection of “a part of hip-hop culture” and should not be interpreted differently.
“I don’t think he’s trying to mock anybody,” Salley said.
