Liz Cambage is in the news again after she had announced her resignation from the WNBA. The former Los Angeles Sparks’ player made her announcement on Instagram on Monday, August 16, 2022.

According to reports, Liz Cambage was not happy with her recent team, the Sparks. This was due to certain unfair treatments Liz claimed she had been hit with.

The star was also involved in controversies in the past, and she promised to address those controversies during her time home.

However, since the player is in the news, we found it good to tell you some few facts you may not know about her.

1) The athlete has a West African origin. Her father is a Nigerian and her mother comes from Australia.

When Liz was with the sparks, she once referred to her teammates of Nigerian origin, as her sisters, and that she was planning to pay a visit to Nigeria.

“‘They’re my Nigerian sisters, that’s half of me. I’ve been planning a trip [to Nigeria] and saying the girls need to take me and show me…,” Liz told LA Times.

Sisters Chiney and Nneka Ogwumike were Liz’s team members at the Sparks.

2) Another facts you probably may not know about Liz, has to do with her height.

At the age of just 10, Liz was 6 feet tall. This made her schoolmates to be teasing her in school in Australia.

It is for Liz’s height that her money suggested that she ventures into basketball. However, that suggestion was put into work by Liz, and today, she’s one of the finest WNBA has seen.

3) Cambage is also a well known disk jocker. Despite the fact that she’s a good basketball player; Liz is also into DJing which she does so well.

She plays gigs just as other professional DJs do.

4) Liz officially entered the WNBA in 2011. This means she started playing professional basketball some 11 years ago. However, she played only four seasons in the league.

Liz played for ten teams in three different leagues in the United States, China, and Australia. All these she did in her 11-year professional career.
