The Caledonia Gladiators have retained one of the British Basketball League‘s rising stars, Oscar Baldwin, for the 2023/24 as he remains a part of Gareth Murray’s growing squad.
Coming through the ranks at the B. Braun Sheffield Sharks, and studying at Sheffield Hallam University, Baldwin developed into a solid centre who earned valuable British Basketball minutes over the past few campaigns with both the Sharks and the Gladiators.
Measuring 6’11”, Baldwin showed solid potential in the 2022/23 campaign whilst averaging 10 minutes of action on the floor, featuring in the Trophy Final roster that saw Caledonia win their first piece of silverware for 20 years.
Upon re-signing the centre, Head Coach Gareth Murray said:
“Having finished his master’s degree, I am dedicated to supporting Oscar in reaching his full potential by providing resources and guidance. I believe he has the necessary tools to make a career in the league.
“Oscar will be with us full time, not playing in the national league, as we focus on personalized training, skill development, and working towards his long-term career success. With the aim of earning valuable minutes, we will help him excel and achieve his goals.”
