Scottish sharpshooter Fraser Malcolm has signed a two-year extension with the Caledonia Gladiators, beginning with the 2023/24 campaign where – entering his fifth season with the club – Malcolm and the Gladiators will tackle contintental competition for the first time.
The 6’6″ forward, who has proved to be a high-impact player in a variety of roles for the Scottish club, has been a solid three-point for Gareth Murray’s side since graduating from Black Hills State in 2018, having risen through the ranks at Falkirk Fury as a junior alongside some of his current Gladiators teammates.
In just over 22 minutes per contest last season, Malcolm contributed almost seven points, three rebounds and 1.5 assists a game, proving to be an asset to Gareth Murray’s squad throughout the British Basketball League Championship, featuring in all 36 games in the competition.
As with other Scots on the Gladiators roster, Malcolm has featured for the Scottish National Team in two Commonwealth Games competitions, including as a 22-year-old at the Gold Coast in 2018 and more recently at the Birmingham 2022 Games in the 3×3 Basketball Competition.
