The B. Braun Sheffield Sharks have announced the signing of Zach Walton for the upcoming 2023/24 season in the British Basketball League.
The 26-year-old forward, hailing from Morton, Washington in the United States, is set to bring his skill set and international experience to the Sharks’ line-up, strengthening the team’s prospects in competitive league play.
Zach Walton completed his collegiate career at Drexel University in Philadelphia. After College, Walton ventured overseas to gain experience and refine his craft. His stints with Erdgas Ehingen in the Germany Pro A league during the 2021-22 season was followed by an impactful year with Mega Tbilisi in the Georgian Super Liga for the 2022-23 season. Walton was able to display his versatility and adaptability on the court.
During his time with Mega Tbilisi, Walton averaged an impressive 11.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.8 steals per game, further solidifying his reputation as a multifaceted player capable of contributing across the game.
Expressing his excitement about joining the Sheffield Sharks and competing in the British Basketball League, Walton stated:
“I am excited for the opportunity to play in the
British League and make my mark on the court. The level of competition and the
passion for basketball in the UK is growing, and I’m ready to bring my
experience and energy to the Sharks’ roster.”
Sharks Head Coach Atiba Lyons also expressed his enthusiasm about Walton’s addition to the team,
