The B. Braun Sheffield Sharks have seen in the New Year with confirmation of a new signing, as Devearl Ramsey has joined the Ponds Forge outfit. The 25-year-old, out of Chatsworth, California joins the club after spending last season with the Stockton Kings in the NBA G-League.
The 6’0 shooting guard also spent 3 seasons at UC Santa Barbara which he graduated from in 2021. The starter averaged 7.03 point, 39.2FG%, 2.86 rebounds and 2.6 assists throughout his career there.
Before playing NCAA basketball, Ramsey notably played for Sierra Canyon, the same high school where Bronny and Bryce James currently play and formerly Zaire Wade.
Ramsey was also a member of the U16 & U17 Team USA squads that took home gold medals at the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship and 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship.
Discussing his latest recruit, Sharks Head Coach Atiba Lyons said: “We are extremely excited about the addition of Devearl. He is described as a relentless defender that has the ability to push the offense with his outstanding speed.”
Devearl will replace Channel Banks and Javion Ogunyemi who were released from their Sharks contracts in December. Another replacement player will be announced in due course by the Sharks.
