The Phoenix Suns have opted in to their $1.9 million team option on Ish Wainright for the 2023-24 season, Shame Charania of The Athletic relayed.
With them paying the trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton and the newly acquired Bradley Beal max salaries, the Suns are in dire need of filling up their rosters with team-friendly deals, and retaining Wainright is just a logical move.
The 28-year-old forward has been with the Suns for the past two seasons. He spent the first few years of his career overseas after going undrafted last 2017 Draft.
In the last 2022-23 regular season, he averaged 4.2 points and 2.3 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game for 60 games.
