Former Surrey Scorchers sharpshooter Skyler White is the newest name through the doors at Ellesmere Port Sports Village as Cheshire Phoenix continue their fast start to the off-season in securing their third signing of the summer.
The 6’7″ American forward moves returns to the British Basketball League after a successful spell with the Surrey Scorchers from 2019-2021, having competed in Norway last season where he averaged almost 20 points and seven rebounds per game for Froya Basket.
White’s acquisition sees Cheshire sign their first new name of the summer, having previously moved quickly to secure the returns of last season’s stars, Maceo Jack and David Ulph.
Speaking following the confirmation of his signing with the Phoenix, White said:
“I’m excited to be returning to the British Basketball League and to be part of Cheshire Phoenix. I’ve really bought into the vision Coach Ben has for the team this year and I’m looking forward to bringing my energy to the court and building on the success the club has had over the last few years. I can’t wait to get out there and play in front of the Cheshire fans!”
Head Coach Ben Thomas added:
“I’m really happy to have Skyler onboard next season. He possesses a great skillset which will fit right in with our style of play. I know he is really motivated to be back playing in the League and I’m looking forward to seeing him get back to his best.”
