Bringing in their second new signing in as many days, the London Lions have secured the signing of one of Europe’s most prolific scorers, former Toronto Raptos G-League star Matt Morgan.
The 25-year-old American will make his debut in the EuroCup following a remarkable season in the French LNB Pro A – where he led Le Mans to a play off berth and received All-Jeep Élite League First-Team honors, finished third in the race for top scorer with 20.7 points per game and was a finalist for the MVP award.
Following a two year-stint with the Raptors 905 of the NBA G-League, Morgan joined Konyaspor in the 2021/22 season – and led them to a promotion to the Turkish “Basketbol Süper Ligi” for the first time since they got relegated from the top-flight league in 2015/16 season – averaging 20.3 points per game on 41% from three-point range.
Morgan graduated from Cornell University as the second All-Time leading scorer of the Ivy League recording historic numbers in his four years with the Big Red.
General Manager Brett Burman commented on the recent signee:
“We are excited to welcome one of Europe’s most prolific scorers to our organization. This is yet another indication of London becoming a destination for top talent”.
