The Surrey Scorchers have brought in veteran sharpshooter Quin Cooper for the new campaign as Head Coach Lloyd Gardner’s roster continues to take shape
Cooper, who competed last season in Finland for Korihait, finished as the team’s leader in three-point percentage and lands in the UK after a well-travelled career that has seen the Louisiana native compete all over the country at the highest level since 2016.
The 6’6″ American becomes the fourth signing for the Scorchers this summer, following returning players Josh Steel and Tayo Ogedengbe, as well as the new signing of two-time League MVP Justin Robinson.
Coach Gardner spoke of how well his new signing will fit in the British Basketball League, saying:
“On of the big things we felt like we needed in the off season was consistency from the three-point line and that is something we now have with the addition of Quin. He has a great experience of playing across multiple leagues in Europe and has always produced. He plays with energy, is unselfish and with his scoring ability can help us win basketball games.”
Discussing his move to Surrey Sports Park, Cooper said:
“I am thankful for the opportunity to put on a Surrey Scorchers jersey for this upcoming season and I am looking forward to a successful campaign on the court.”
