The third season of Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball will begin Feb. 29, 2024 and continue until Mar. 23, with all games held at Fair Park Coliseum in Dallas, TX for the second-straight year.
Thus far, 22 players have committed to play in the 2024 season, highlighted by returning standouts in the Atlanta Dream’s Allisha Gray, Indiana Fever’s Kelsey Mitchell, Los Angeles Sparks’ Lexie Brown and Dallas Wings’ Odyssey Sims. Sydney Colson and Kierstan Bell, both of the back-to-back WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces, also will again suit up for AU Pro Basketball in 2024. The notable newcomers include the Minnesota Lynx’s Tiffany Mitchell, Washington Mystics’ Queen Egbo, Sparks’ Zia Cooke, Dream’s Laeticia Amihere and Wings’ Maddy Siegrist, along with former WNBA All-Star Angel McCoughtry.
McCoughtry expressed excitement for her forthcoming first-time participation in AU, sharing, “As the newest member of the AU family, I am beyond excited to start this journey. Basketball has always been a passion that drives me. My focus is clear: I just want to hoop again, to be on the court where I feel most alive. I can’t wait to show the world what I got.”
Brown likewise emphasized the opportunity provided by AU, both on the court, as she looks to bounce back from an injury-plagued 2023 WNBA season, and off the court, through her role as the chair of the player executive committee:
I’m super excited to be part of season three. Taking on the role of chairperson of the Player Executive Committee has been a really fun experience for me so far and will continue to prepare me for my future goals in front office work. AU Pro Basketball will be the first time I’ve been on the court since July and I can’t wait to compete with and against the amazing players we have on the roster. I can’t say enough how grateful I am to have an opportunity to play in the off-season domestically.
