Surrey Scorchers today announced the signing of American forward Shakem Johnson.
Shakem Johnson is the second Scorcher to be making his professional debut with the Surrey side alongside fellow American Jalen Ray.
The 6’7″ forward graduated out of D1 Tennessee State averaging eight points and five rebounds per game.
Prior to attending Tennessee State the Ohio native transferred from Navarro Community College where he helped them to a 21-5 record and was a top 50 JUCO recruit.
“I’m very excited to announce my signing to the Scorchers family. I can’t wait to get to work and put on a show for all the fans, it’s going to be an exciting season,” said Johnson.
“Coming to England is going to be a great experience, I trust the staff and my teammates won’t have a problem welcoming me in.”
