Leslee Smith has re-joined Bristol Flyers ahead of the 2022/23 season.
The British Virgin Islands International, who first joined the Flyers in 2016, has returned for a second spell with the club on an initial one-year contract.
Smith made 55 appearances for the Flyers between 2016-18, where he averaged 11 points and seven rebounds per game.
He was a key part of the Flyers squad that reached the BBL play-off semi-final in 2018, before brief spells elsewhere in the league with Sheffield Sharks and Plymouth Raiders.
“I really enjoyed my two years in Bristol – it was probably the best period of my professional career, so to have that opportunity to come back was a no-brainer for me,” said Smith.
“I didn’t like the way my career stopped with the COVID pandemic, so I wanted to come back to a team that I would be comfortable with.
“Bristol feels like home – we did a lot of good things during my two years with the Flyers, so be able to come back and pick up where I left off is something I’m really looking forward to.”
Smith becomes the sixth player to commit to Bristol Flyers for the 2022/23 season, joining Mike Miller, Malcolm Delpeche, Tevin Olison, Thomas Bell and Brandon Mahan.
Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas added, “We are very pleased to welcome Leslee back for a second spell with the club. We spoke during the recruitment process and it just felt it was the right time for both sides.
“Leslee has been working hard this summer to catch up for lost time and get in shape for the season. You can truly sense how determined and focused he is to come in to help the team perform at its best.
“He will make a huge impact to our frontcourt with his experience, skill and versatility.”
