The Pelicans are building for the future but should entertain making a trade now

Shamit Dua joins the latest episode of Fastbreak Breakfast to discuss all things New Orleans Pelicans related, including how aggressive they should be approaching the trade deadline.

Zion Williamson has arrived with a bang and now the Pelicans can turn to the task at hand.

Which is..what exactly?

Just get Zion healthy? Make a push for the playoffs? Trade off some veterans for even more future assets? Trade some of their plentiful stash of future draft picks to build around the young core? Figure out exactly which pieces of the young core are the best fit going forward?

The answer to all of these questions is some combination of “yes” or “sure.” So how will the franchise balance looking towards building an eventual contender and maximizing their current opportunities?

To answer that, Shamit Dua (@fearthebrown) joins the latest episode of Fastbreak Breakfast. Shamit is a writer for Bourbon Street Shots and host of the In The N.O. podcast.
